Application & Interview Process
All complete applications which are submitted by our deadline of November 1 will be considered. This consists of an ERAS application, personal statement, Dean's letter, USMLE scores, medical school transcript and a minimum of three letters of recommendation - one being from a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist. Please be advised that we require a passing score in the USMLE Step 2 examination prior to the (National Resident Matching Program) NRMP match deadline since this is a requirement for starting residency. A recent photo is helpful. Graduates from international medical schools should also submit a copy of their current ECFMG (Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certificate and the Applicant Status Letter from the Medical Board of California.

Candidates are selected through the NRMP (National Resident Matching Program) for appointments beginning June 24.
Our program is very competitive and the number of applicants far exceeds the number of individuals we are able to interview; thus a stellar academic record is helpful to the potential applicant. Profiles of the entering class of 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 are depicted in Table 6 (*pdf). Therefore, you are encouraged to apply early. We will be using e-mail to communicate with applicants, so we ask that you check your e-mail frequently. Candidates selected for interviews will spend the entire day in our department and will have the opportunity to attend conferences and meet with faculty and residents. We will interview on selected Wednesdays in November, December and January.
