Grand Rounds and Conferences

To further the education of our physicians and professional community, the Department of Neurosurgery hosts a series of annual symposiums, ongoing Grand Rounds, weekly conferences and national speaking engagements.

Symposium on Neurovascular Disease 2010

Neurovascular disease is the number one cause of adult disability. More than four million Americans have survived a stroke, and most will never recover completely. This conference reviewed the latest diagnoses, newly approved therapies to lessen symptoms and emerging surgical treatment options for degenerative neurological disorders. Participants had the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions with renowned faculty who are involved in initiating these neurological advances. Sessions to be presented include:

  • Acute Stroke: Treatment Intervention
  • Extra-cranial Neurovascular Disease
  • Controversial Neurovascular Pathologies

The conference is being held on January 9, 2010. at Casa Del Mar in Santa Monica, CA.

Advances in Neurology and Neurosurgery 2010

Clinical neurosciences are undergoing rapid changes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders, especially in the fields of brain tumors, spinal disorders, vascular disease and stroke. At this conference, physicians and other healthcare professionals will be updated on both established and emerging treatment options for delivering optimal care to their patients. Sessions to be presented include:

  • The New Frontier for Stem Cells, Cancer Vaccines and Beyond
  • Degenerative Disorders of the Brain and Spine
  • Management of Headache, Dizziness and Vertigo
  • Neurovascular Diseases

Grand Rounds

The Department of Neurosurgery Grand Rounds series has been designed to educate our medical staff, residents, fellows and community physicians on the diagnosis and management of various nervous system disorders, and to share the latest strategies in neurological research endeavors.
