A pioneer in the use of endoscopic techniques for treating digestive diseases, the center provides the complete range of analytical and treatment procedures as well as specialized services not available elsewhere. The IBD Center is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and management of intractable intestinal inflammation resulting from chronic conditions, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Although each of these is a different condition, they all cause destruction of the digestive system and life-changing symptoms. IBD is often misdiagnosed. The specialists at Cedars-Sinai are highly experienced in identifying the condition. Services offered at the IBD Center include diagnostic procedures, drug therapy, surgery, nutrition counseling, the opportunity to join clinical studies for new treatment options, a support group for patients and their families and education.
The GI Motility Program at Cedars-Sinai is one of the nation's most innovative and comprehensive centers for motility disorders. The program provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatments and research. One of its unique aspects is the ability to provide consultations for motility problems involving all aspects of the gastrointestinal tract. The program is patient focused in its care. A variety of GI motility specialists looks at each patient's medical needs and delivers highly individualized diagnostic and treatment services. The program maintains a broad research program designed to identify associations between various diseases and motility disorders and to improve the quality of life for patients with these conditions.
Pancreaticobiliary and Interventional Endoscopy Services diagnoses and treats diseases of the pancreas. These conditions include acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cancer, jaundice and gallstones.
Its Interventional Endoscopy component offers the most advanced endoscopic procedures for a variety of gastrointestinal problems. These minimally invasive techniques can be used to diagnose pancreatic cancer and determine its progress with less impact on the patient.
