Please Use New 08-05 Form

Effective July 1, 2007, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will reject any CMS-1500 (12-90) forms received. Forms not received by Friday, June 29 will be returned for resubmission on the new 08-05 forms, which replace the 12-90 version.

50 Cent Increase Becomes Effective Beginning July 1

Beginning July 1, the fee for discounted parking validations for outpatient procedures and visits will be increased from $3.50 to $4.00. Please make sure your office staff is informed of the fee increase and review your patient information forms in case they list the old price.

TAP Pharmaceuticals is no longer manufacturing lansoprazole Inj (Prevacid®). As of June 11, an auto-substitution policy approved by the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee has taken effect.

45-Year-Old Male Patient is Doing Fine

Four months after his groundbreaking heart transplant surgery at Cedars-Sinai, Michael Iwuchukwu says he is feeling "strong and healthy." In a March 13 operation at the medical center, he became possibly the first patient ever to receive a heart that had been transplanted before.

Personal Patient List Sharing

Web/VS allows you to share your Personal Patient List (PPL) with one or more other physicians. This can be very helpful when other physicians are covering for you on the weekend or at night. The other physicians can also see (but not modify) your personal memos about your patients.

Organ Transplants

In 2007, Cedars-Sinai's Comprehensive Transplant Center will perform an estimated:

• 160 kidney transplants
• 70 liver transplants
• 30-35 heart transplants
• 20 lung transplants
• 12 pancreas transplants

Although applications were received from as far as Georgia, New York and Connecticut, the two young scientists receiving this year's Pauletta and Denzel Washington Family Scholar in Neuroscience Awards will feel right at home.
