Gary N. Furman, MD, FACS

Medical Coordinator, Center for Weight Loss

Gary N. Furman, MD, FACS, is Medical Coordinator of the Center for Weight Loss at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Furman previously served as Attending Clinical Chief for the Department of Surgery and Attending Chief for the Division of General Surgery at Cedars-Sinai.

A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Furman has more than 20 years experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of morbid obesity. His current research interest is focused on bariatric surgery data and outcomes.

He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, Los Angeles Surgical Society and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery.

Dr. Furman received his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. He completed his internship at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital and his surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
