A free community conference for Parkinson's patients and families was held on Saturday, September 29, 2007. Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's American Parkinson Disease Association Information and Referral Center offered this half-day conference to provide you with an opportunity to learn from medical experts about the many ways that Parkinson's affects the body and mind, and the research that is being done to find better treatments and ultimately a cure.
Experts discussed the role that genes play in the development of Parkinson's disease, and Parkinsons effect on memory.
The conference concluded with an extended question-and-answer period from a panel of patients diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and family members. The goal was to exchange helpful ideas, as well as to encourage and inspire those facing Parkinson's disease by interacting with others in similar situations.
