
The Neuropsychiatry, Aging, and Immunology Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences focuses its research upon the causes, prevention, and treatment of HIV-1-associated neurocognitive impairment and disorder, specifically in older persons and in Spanish speaking people living in the United States and internationally (Argentina and Brazil).

The program also has an exhange/collaboration focsued upon international HIV/AIDS studies in Argentina and Brazil. We are planning to expand to other impacted countries in the world. The program's multidisciplinary team of experts also interacts with the Cedars-Sinai HIV/AIDS and Immune Disorder Center. We plan to provide psychological and neuropsychiatric services for these patients. We are also collaborating with the UCLA Department of Radiology, utilizing its state of the art Brain Mapping Center.
