The American College of Cardiology's online product "Cardiosource Plus for Institutions" is now available on a trial basis to all Cedars-Sinai faculty, attending, trainees, nurses and students. Cardiosource Plus is a web-based cardiovascular information and educational resource produced by the American College of Cardiology Foundation. The trial is valid through Feb. 29, 2008. Users can access Cardiosource from within the medical center by going to the Medical Library Electronic Resources page at http://web.csmc.edu/mlic/resourcesframe.htm or by visiting www.cardiosource.com and clicking on the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Institutional Access navigation bar on the top right of the home page. Users outside of the medical center must go to the Physician Resources Home Page on the Cedars-Sinai Internet website (www.csmc.edu/clinws) and click on the link for Cardiosource under Knowledge-Based Resources, then use your Exchange username and password to authenticate on the Cedars-Sinai proxy. You will see Cardiosource Plus for Institutions and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Institutional Access in the header. Log in with your existing Cardiosource username and password. All ACC members have usernames/passwords. Non-members who have previously registered with or purchased Cardiosource, or any of its self-assessment programs, will also have a username and password. If you are unsure of this information, you can contact the ACC resource center at 1-800-253-4636, ext 5603. If you do not have a username, click on the Sign Up Now button and then click Register. "I'm interested in receiving any feedback regarding the product. I'm in the process of identifying grant support that can cover the cost of this product on a long-term basis for teaching hospitals in California," said John Harold, M.D., Chair-Elect of the American College of Cardiology Board of Governors and a cardiologist at Cedars-Sinai. "Please send feedback via e-mail to me at: harold@cshs.org. Anyone can register and use the site, but ACC members already have usernames/passwords so we don't want them to register again and create duplicate records."
