Maksim Khayznikov

Research Associate II

Maksim Khayznikov is a recent graduate from the University of California, Irvine. He graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences receiving an Honors and an Excellence in Research recognitions. During his undergraduate studies he worked in prostate cancer research with a focus on apoptosis and cancer cells' death signaling pathways involved in the prostate cancer model. Specifically he worked on the mechanisms of action of Death Receptor 5 and FLIP.

In the future he plans on attending medical school and continue his interests in cancer research and translational therapeutics.

As a part of the BOG-GTRI he is responsible for all aspects of molecular design and cloning, growing, and quality testing of first generation Adenoviral vectors to be used in preclinical models of cancer therapeutics. In addition he participates in other ongoing projects related to the development of novel targeted cancer therapies that are in progress at the Institute.
