Christopher E. Harris, MD is Director of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Harris was an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Pumonary Medicine, Director of Pediatric Pulmonary Function Laboratory, and Associate Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center, all at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Harris' research activities focus on treatments for lung diseases. Funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Dr. Harris created a vaccine for lower respiratory illness in children with cystic fibrosis and he produced an inhalation solution for patients with mild to moderate cystic fibrosis lung disease.
Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology, Dr. Harris is a member of the American Thoracic Society, Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Harris has published articles in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Journal for Respiratory Care Practitioners, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Journal of Pediatrics and American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology. He is a reviewer for American Journal of Respitory Cell and Molecular Biology, Journal of Pediatrics, and Pediatric Research. Dr Harris has also written book chapters in The Pediatric Lung and Primary Pediatric Care.
Dr. Harris received his bachelor's and medical degrees from the University of Wisconsin. He fulfilled his residency in pediatrics at Vanderbilt University and completed a pediatric pulmonary medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
