CME Needs Assessment Survey Now Available Online

All members of the medical staff are encouraged to take a few moments to complete the 2008 CME (Continuing Medical Education) Needs Assessment Survey. The survey is available online only until Monday, June 30.

Dalteparin (Fragmin) per Pharmacy Protocol for Treatment of DVT/PE

The Department of Pharmacy Services now offers a Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee approved LMWH protocol for the treatment of DVT/PE as an alternative to unfractionated heparin infusion in appropriate patients.

CSMC Medical Staff Enjoys a Private Tour of the Broad Contemporary Art Museum

The opportunity to take a private tour of the new Broad Contemporary Art Museum attracted a large gathering of physicians on May 14 as 160 members and guests of the medical staff enjoyed a night out at the museum. The tour, which included a buffet dinner, took physicians through the expansive, 72,000-square-foot facility designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano as the newest centerpiece of the L.A. Patient Allergy Update

A detailed listing of the patient's allergies is now available on the Patient Banner via a pop up window display. Once the "Allergies" hyperlink (located in the upper right hand corner on the Patient Banner) has been selected, a pop up window will display listing all of the patient's allergy details which include: Substance Description, Severity, Reaction Type and Notes.

The patient allergies are also viewable in the "Patient Profile" located in the "Reports" section.

Nominations for the 2008 Pioneer in Medicine Award are being accepted now through Monday, June 9. Please note that only attending category members of the medical staff can submit nominations.
