Amir Steinberg, MD

Hematologist/Oncologist, Bone Marrow Transplantation

Amir Steinberg, MD is a hematologist/oncologist in the Blood Marrow Transplant Program and also at Cedars-Sinai's Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute.

Dr. Steinberg's interests include hematologic malignancies, particularly stem cell transplant therapy as a treatment modality. His research on thrombocytosis and stem cell transplantation were published as abstracts in the Journal of the American Society of Hematology. His research on the relationship between blood type and coronary disease was published for the Society of Angiography and Intervention's annual meeting.

Dr. Steinberg graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas, Austin, with a bachelor's in history and a minor in biology. He earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine, completing his residency in internal medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, a teaching hospital of Columbia University. He completed a bone marrow transplant fellowship at Stanford University Hospital and Clinics and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital, a teaching hospital of New York University.
