Run for Her Sprints

to Record $695K

Sandra Orsulic, Ph.D., Scott Karlan, M.D., and Beth Karlan, M.D., (pictured l-r) were among the 3,500 participants in the fourth annual Run for Her on Nov. 16. The 5K run raises awareness about ovarian cancer and generates support for the Cedars-Sinai Women's Cancer Research Institute at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Donations are accepted online at www.runforher.com until Dec. 31, 2008.

The Cedars-Sinai Alumni Association will celebrate its 50th anniversary when its members gather on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Skirball Cultural Center for the group's annual business meeting and dinner.

Medical Staff have many ways to contribute

Cedars-Sinai physicians have numerous opportunities to shape the design and implementation of the hospital's new integrated information system.

The clinical side of the electronic system dubbed CS-Link is set to launch in late 2009 and there are still many ways physicians are involved in the program's development.

Medical Center takes part in earthquake drill

At 10 a.m. on Nov. 13, Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff, along with millions of other Californians, took part in the largest earthquake preparedness drill in U.S. history.

The hospital saw more than 70 "patients" as part of the four-hour simulation, which involved every department at the medical center.
