Jerry W. Hussong DDS, MD is Director of Operations and Director of Hematopathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai.
Dr. Hussong's clinical research and teaching are focused in the area of hematopathology. He has published more than 20 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, as well as a number of educational articles for the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
Dr. Hussong is a nationally invited speaker on topics in hematopathology and flow cytometry. He is on the editorial board of two pathology journals and also is actively involved in surgical pathology issues, as evidenced by his membership on Cancer Committees for the College of American Pathologists and College of Surgeons.
Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Hussong also holds specialty board certification in hematopathology. He is an active member of several national organizations related to surgical pathology and hematopathology.
Dr. Hussong earned his dental and medical degrees from Northwestern University in Chicago, where he also earned a master's of science in cellular and molecular pathology. He completed an internship in internal medicine and a pathology residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. This was followed by a hematopathology fellowship at University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
