Bharat N. Nathwani, MD joined the Department having served for over 25 years as a tenured Professor of Pathology at University of Southern California School of Medicine and Chief of its Hematopathology Division.
A nationally and internationally respected lymphoma pathologist, Dr. Nathwani has over 35 years experience in diagnosing and providing expert consultations on lymphomas. His research interests are in clinicopathologic and biologic correlations and he is currently working on a book on diagnosing malignant lymphoma.
Dr. Nathwani has authored 145 scientific articles, received numerous national and international awards and delivered over 150 lectures, seminars and workshops on lymphoma worldwide. He brings his consultation practice to Cedars-Sinai, his primary focus in addition to resident and fellow education.
Dr. Nathwani received his medical degree from the University of Bombay, India, he completed his residency in Pathology at Grant Medical College and his internship at J.J. Group of Hospitals in India in 1969. Dr. Nathwani is an acknowledged leader in lymphoma classification and is one of the leading hematopathologists worldwide, having co-authored chapters in the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of malignant lymphoma.
