The Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology and the Centers for Disease Control report the outcomes of assisted reproductive technology procedures done throughout the United States.
These reports provide an in-depth picture of the type, number and outcome of assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycles done by the physicians who are members of the Cedars-Sinai Center for Fertility and Reproductive Medicine
ART includes all fertility treatments in which both eggs and sperm are handled. In general, ART procedures involve surgically removing eggs from a woman's ovaries, combining them with sperm in the laboratory, and returning them to the woman's body or donating them to another woman.
The most common form of ART is in vitro fertilization (IVF). It is estimated that ART accounts for slightly more than 1% of total U.S. births.

It is important to keep in mind that comparisons between clinics must be made with caution. Many factors contribute to the success of an ART procedure. Some factors are related to the patients themselves, such as their age and the cause of their infertility. Some clinics may be more willing than others to accept patients with low chances of success or may specialize in various ART treatments that attract particular types of patients. It is best to consult with the physician and discuss your specific medical situation and potential for success.
