The Cardiothoracic Anesthesia faculty is here to assist in any way they can to make your educational experience memorable. It is our hope that you will have a most enjoyable and meaningful year of medicine. Education is a change in behavior based upon experiences. The program achieves these goals through a program that integrates educational methods based on clinical experience, didactic faculty lectures, problem-based learning discussions, learning projects including research, debates, journal presentations, and evidence-based reviews, multidisciplinary conferences, and exposure to a high volume of cardiac surgery.
The goals support the department's mission of graduating fellows who are "experts" in the provision of cardiothoracic anesthesia, who are life-long learners, and models of professional excellence with unique skills sets that allows them to make a significant contribution to the field of Cardiothoracic anesthesia.
Clearly, the primary goal in design of our fellowship program is creating an academic environment which provides an exceptional clinical experience, extensive and well organized teaching venues and the opportunity to perform original research with committed and qualified faculty.
