Our Addiction Medicine Services (AMS) provide adult substance abusers with treatment, education and support services to stop using alcohol and drugs and to maintain long-term recovery. AMS combines modern psychotherapeutic interventions with essential 12-step principles to offer patients an understanding of addictive disease and create a foundation for the lifestyle and behavior changes needed for staying sober.
The Dual Diagnosis IOP meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This program is designed to help dual diagnosis individuals (i.e., individuals with a psychiatric diagnosis and a coexisting chemical dependency diagnosis) understand addictive disease and relevant mental health issues by integrating psychotherapy with recovery principles in a supportive, nurturing environment. Treatment includes group psychotherapy, addiction education, relapse prevention and coping skills development. During treatment, patients receive help in arranging their days to include attendance at support group meetings, daily responsibilities, appropriate medication management and healthy leisure activities.
Upon discharge, Dual Diagnosis IOP patients are encouraged to participate in the weekly Aftercare Group to process and share ongoing recovery issues. Additional therapeutic services include:
