History

Since its inception in 1902, Cedars-Sinai has evolved to become the largest nonprofit hospital in the western United States - one that is internationally renowned for the best patient care modern medicine has to offer. This dedication to excellence is beautifully portrayed in the Jewish Contributions to Medicine mural located in the Harvey Morse Auditorium.

Today, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is committed to providing superior outpatient, acute and sub-acute patient care, breakthrough biomedical research, graduate and undergraduate medical education and community service.

Since 1990, Cedars-Sinai has been named consecutively in an independent survey by the National Research Corporation (NRC) as Southern California's "gold" standard in healthcare. Los Angeles residents rated Cedars-Sinai "number one" for:

  • Best Overall Quality
  • Most Preferred Hospital Overall
  • Best Doctors
  • Best Nurses
  • Best Image and Reputation
  • Most Personalized Care
