Magnetic Resonance Imaging

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine uses a special picture-taking technique to show internal parts of the body. The images produced are often better than those produced by a normal X-ray. The scans are very clear and particularly good for diagnosing problems of the brain and spinal cord. This helps neurologists make accurate diagnoses and develop the best possible treatment plans without having to resort to surgery.
