
Brian D. Solberg, MD is Director of Orthopedic Trauma Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Under his direction, Cedars-Sinai's Level-1 trauma center provides the most advanced management and treatment services available for orthopedic trauma, including state-of-the-art orthopedic implantation and leading-edge minimally invasive procedures.
A board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Solberg is a recognized expert in managing and treating complex fractures, specifically related to the pelvis and acetabulum, delayed unions, nonunions and fracture malunions. He has special training in the surgical correction of skeletal deformities and hip dysplasias. Dr. Solberg's primary research interests relate to the biomechanics of pelvic and acetabular fracture fixation and treatment methods for sacral fractures. He is also investigating innovative options to treat osteoporosic fractures and hip fractures.
Dr. Solberg is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and Orthopaedic Trauma Association. He is a member of the California Orthopaedic Association, Paul Lipscomb Society and the Yale Orthopaedic Association. He has written articles for several peer-reviewed publications, including the Journal of Bone Joint Surgery, Journal of Orthopedic Trauma and the International Journal of Cell Cloning.
Dr. Solberg received his medical degree from the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He then completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in orthopedic surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, affiliated with the Yale University School of Medicine. Following his residency, Dr. Solberg completed specialized fellowship training in trauma surgery at the University of California, Davis Medical Center.
