
Ralph S. Lachman, MD, is Co-Founder of the International Skeletal Dysplasia Registry at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Lachman is Professor Emeritus of Radiology and Pediatrics at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine and a visiting scholar at Stanford University. He currently also serves as a medical consultant for the Little People of America, Kaiser-Oakland and Children's Oakland.
Formerly, Dr. Lachman was a pediatric radiologist and Associate Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He held the position of Chief of the Division of Diagnostic Radiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from 1974 to 1980. From 1980 until 1999 he was the Associate Chair of Radiology, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Lachman has written extensively on skeletal dysplasias with over 200 articles published in professional publications, such as the American Journal of Medical Genetics, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical Genetics, Pediatric Radiology and Human Molecular Genetics. He is Associate Editor for Pediatric Radiology and the American Journal of Medical Genetics. He is presently updating the fifth edition of Taybi-Lachman's Radiology of Syndromes, Metabolic Disorders and Skeletal Dysplasias.
Dr. Lachman served as President of the Pacific Coast Pediatric Radiology Association in 1985 and as a member of the Gold Medal Committee of the Society for Pediatric Radiology.
Dr. Lachman received his bachelor's degree from Temple University and his medical degree from the Meharry College School of Medicine.
