As part of its fundamental commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based medicine, the Division of General Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai uses a number of tools to improve compliance with recognized standards of care, to enhance patient safety, to augment medical education and to facilitate compliance with clinical practice guidelines.

- American College of Physicians : The premier academic and professional organization of internal medicine doctors in the U.S.
- National Guideline Clearinghouse : A Web-based resource sponsored by the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the NGC provides access to clinical practice guidelines derived from a variety of sources, including government agencies and professional societies.
- PubMed : Web-based access to the MEDLINE bibliographic database provided by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
- Society of General Internal Medicine : The professional organization for general internists who combine patient care with teaching and/or research.
