

Shikha Bose, MD is Director of Cytopathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. She is also Assistant Professor of Pathology and Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Bose has authored in excess of 40 peer-reviewed scientific articles and has been an invited speaker at more than 20 national and international meetings. Her research interests include the genetic abnormalities in in-situ and early cancerous lesions of the breast. She has been awarded a grant by the California Breast Research program to study the molecular mechanisms of invasion in early breast cancers and has been involved in several National Institutes of Health (NIH)-sponsored studies.
Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Bose also holds special qualification in cytopathology. She is a regular reviewer for several journals and grants. Dr. Bose is a member of numerous national and international organizations, particularly related to breast pathology and cytopathology.
Dr. Bose received her medical degree from King George's Medical College, Lucknow, India. After an internship at Gandhi Memorial Hospital, she was a resident in medicine and pediatrics before beginning her pathology studies at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. She completed a pathology residency at Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, as well as fellowships in cytopathology (Lankenau Hospital), surgical pathology (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York) and fine needle aspiration cytology (New York University Medical Center). Dr. Bose also completed a two-year fellowship in breast pathology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City.
