Daniel J. Luthringer, MD

Director, Autopsy; cardiac pathology, genitourinary pathology, autopsy

Daniel J. Luthringer, MD is Director of Autopsy Service and is in charge of cardiac pathology and genitourinary pathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. He is also Assistant Clinical Professor of Pathology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and he is a deputy coroner for Los Angeles County.

Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Luthringer holds special qualification in cytopathology. He is an active participant in ongoing research at the Louis Warschaw Prostate Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai. He previously served as a clinical instructor at Yale, and an assistant medical examiner for the State of Connecticut.

Dr. Luthringer has sponsored a number of award-winning resident research presentations, and he is a frequent participant in philanthropic international medical education programs, particularly in Southeast Asia. A member of several professional societies, he has published more than 15 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Luthringer received his medical degree from State University of New York at Syracuse, where he was inducted into the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed a residency in anatomic pathology at Yale University and the Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was also Chief Resident. He also completed a fellowship in molecular diagnostic pathology.
