Margie Morgan, PhD

Chief Microbiologist; microbiology

Margie Ann Morgan, PhD is Chief Microbiologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Morgan also leads the Program for Orientation of Pharmacy Representatives at Cedars-Sinai.

Winner of the Golden Apple Award from Cedars-Sinai for outstanding contributions to medical education, Dr. Morgan is actively involved in resident teaching and has been a participant in the medical technology program. She is also a member of several professional societies.

Dr. Morgan has written articles and abstracts for numerous peer-reviewed publications, and she co-authored book chapters for Automation in Microbiology and for Tuberculosis.

Dr. Morgan received her master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She completed clinical training in medical technology at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, followed by a fellowship in clinical microbiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
