Anita N. Newman, MD is a pediatric otolaryngologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Newman previously served as Associate Professor in Residence in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine and as Clinical Associate Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC).
Dr. Newman's primary areas of research interests involve nerve growth and regeneration. Her investigations have received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Oberkotter Foundation.
Board certified in otolaryngology, Dr. Newman is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, and she is a member of the American Medical Women's Association and associate member of the Head and Neck Surgery Society. She is Program Chairman of the Los Angeles Otolaryngological Society and President of the Hope for Hearing Foundation. A prolific lecturer, she has taught or supervised numerous courses and classes at UCLA and USC.
Dr. Newman received her bachelor's degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. She completed an internship and two years of training in general surgery and otorhinolaryngology at Northwestern University. She completed an otorhinolaryngology residency and fellowship at the UCLA School of Medicine.
