

Kenneth W. Wright, MD is Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology Research and Education at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Wright is also Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) and an attending physician at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Wright's research activities involve congenital esotropia (cross-eye), assessing vision in preverbal children and investigating new treatment methods for amblyopia (lazy eye). He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, American Ophthalmological Society (national honor society for ophthalmologists) and Los Angeles Eye Society.
Board certified in ophthalmology, Dr. Wright has written articles for such peer-reviewed journals as the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Binocular Vision and Strabismus, Current Ocular Therapy, Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology, Journal of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Seminars in Ophthalmology. Dr. Wright has also served as an editor and chief contributor for several textbooks, including Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Pediatric Ophthalmology for Pediatricians and Requisite Series and Color Atlas of Strabismus Surgery - Strategies and Techniques.
Dr. Wright earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his internship at Harbor-University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center. After his residency at Estelle Doheny Eye Institute at USC, he completed fellowships at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore and Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Wright now supervises an accredited fellowship program in pediatric ophthalmology and trains both American and international fellows.
