Outsmarting Brain Tumors: October 23, 2004

Free Community Conference on Adult and Pediatric Brain Tumors

Thank you to everyone who participated in and attended this free public conference held on October 23, 2004. The conference educated patients and their caregivers about the latest research that has been translated into surgical and nonsurgical treatments for adult and pediatric brain tumors. Participants heard about the latest information on the effects of diet and alternative treatments for brain tumors, as well as the emotional aspect of living with this disease.

Researchers at the Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute are in the forefront of developing treatments for adult and pediatric brain tumors. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Cancer Society and private donations, their work has recently appeared on the covers of several prestigious medical journals.
