

Sonu S. Ahluwalia, MD is an orthopedic surgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Institute for Joint Replacement. His primary areas of clinical and research interest involve knee biomechanics, revision and replacement.
Dr. Ahluwalia has made several presentations at professional symposia, including meetings of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, International Epilepsy Congress, International Society for Study of the Lumbar Spine and Orthopaedic Research Society. He is a former associate editor and editor in chief of the Orthopaedic Journal at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ahluwalia received his medical degree at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore, India. After a transitional internship at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, he completed a residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and a residency in orthopedic surgery in the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Surgery Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he served as the Chief Resident in Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Ahluwalia also fulfilled fellowships in total joint replacement at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Boston, in shoulder surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and in sports medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.
