The Leapfrog Group Health Quality Measures
Cedars-Sinai is a participant in The Leapfrog Group's Hospital Quality and Safety Survey. At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center we continually monitor our progress in achieving Leapfrog's four hospital quality and safety practices:
- An overall Safe Practices Score developed from the scoring received on 27 healthcare practices
- Reported outcomes for specific surgical procedures.
- Training and staff of Intensive Care Units.
- Use of a computerized physician order entry system
In addition, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is fully compliant with The Leapfrog Group's Never Events Policy. This means that Cedars-Sinai has agreed to report and investigate adverse medical events as well as apologizing to the patient or his or her family and waiving all costs directly related to a serious reportable adverse event.
Cedars-Sinai is also fully compliant with The Leapfrog Group's Transparency Indicator, which gives Cedars-Sinai recognition for participating in efforts by other national or regional patient safety and quality public reporting initiatives such as California Hospital Assessment and Reporting Taskforce (CHART).
