Heel Pain

Two of the most common sources of pain in the heel are:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Heel spurs

If you have heel pain and any of the following apply to you, you should consult a doctor before doing anything to try to relieve the pain:

  • Intense pain that doesn't go away
  • Diabetes or other medical problems that might affect your circulation or hands or feet
  • A recent foot injury
  • An open sore on your foot
  • A mass that can be felt on your foot, or
  • if you think you may have an infection
