Admissions

The CPE Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center offers Level I and Level II CPE.

  • Level I CPE is an introductory program in which the student develops basic clinical skills, a professional identity and grows in pastoral authority for spiritual care practice.
  • Level II CPE is for applicants who have already completed Level I CPE program(s) and who have met the Level I objectives of the ACPE Standards.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION


Level I CPE

  • A completed and signed CPE Application Form , including references and required essays, accompanied by the $30 application fee.
  • Graduation from high school/GED; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Faith group identification and affiliation.
  • Final Evaluations (student's and supervisor's) from any prior CPE, if applicable.
  • An admissions interview, if selected.
  • Acceptance into a CPE program and payment of the non-refundable deposit.
  • Compliance with all of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s health and background clearance requirements.
  • Payment of tuition fees during the first week of the CPE program.

Level II CPE

  • A completed and signed CPE Application Form , including references and required essays, accompanied by the $30 application fee.
  • Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent; Master’s Degree or equivalent (completed or in process) preferred.
  • Faith group identification and affiliation.
  • Final Evaluations (student's and supervisor's) from each prior CPE unit demonstrating successful meeting of Level I CPE outcomes.
  • An admissions interview, if selected.
  • Acceptance into a CPE program and payment of the non-refundable deposit.
  • Compliance with all of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s health and background clearance requirements.
  • Payment of tuition fees during the first week of the CPE program.
