Rabbi Sarah Barukh is an ACPE Certified Educator and serves as the CPE Program Lead for the Cedars-Sinai Clinical Pastoral Education Program. Prior to her role as a CPE educator, she served as one of the Jewish Chaplains at Cedars-Sinai. She is board certified by the Association of Professional Chaplains and has completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).

Rabbi Barukh earned her rabbinic ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University, along with a master's in rabbinic studies. She also completed her BA in Jewish Studies at the American Jewish University and pursued supplemental education at Hebrew University's Rothberg International School and the Conservative Yeshiva in Israel.

Rabbi Barukh completed her first unit of CPE at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, followed by three units of CPE and ACPE Certified Educator training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. At Children's Hospital, Rabbi Barukh focused on patients and families of diverse religious backgrounds in the oncology and cardiovascular intensive care units. Prior to becoming an ACPE Educator, she cared for patients across Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and specialized in supporting patients and families coping with long-term respiratory illnesses and liver/kidney transplants.

In her current role as a CPE Program Lead, she supervises approximately six students per unit and supports their learning and growth throughout their internship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is active in her local ACPE community and currently serves as the Pacific Community of Practice Communications Specialist. Rabbi Barukh is passionate about the field of spiritual care and speaks at local graduate programs and congregations to broaden the community’s awareness and access to this important resource.

Prior to beginning her chaplaincy journey, she served as a rabbinic intern for Community Tikvat Jacob and as an educator at Camp Alonim, Camp Ramah Berkshires and Los Angeles Hebrew High School.
