Surgical Oncology and General and Laparoscopic Surgery

Dr. Cohen's clinical expertise is in all areas of surgical oncology with a particular interest in breast cancer, cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and tumors of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. He also has interest in nutrition in cancer care and prevention. Dr. Cohen is an attending surgeon at the Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Cancer Center. In addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Cohen is also involved in basic science and clinical research, with an emphasis on the genetic aspects of breast cancer.

Dr. Cohen, a native of New York City, received his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York, Binghamton. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, where he also completed his residency in general surgery. Dr. Cohen completed his fellowship in surgical oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
