She completed a rotating internship and one year of internal medicine residency at Philippine General Hospital, Manila. Following this Dr. de Peralta-Venturina did an anatomic and clinical pathology residency begun at University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, and finished at University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston. She subsequently completed fellowships in surgical pathology at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston; cytopathology at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit; and hematopathology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
