Rex Chung, MD is a surgeon in the Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai.  He specializes in trauma, critical care and acute care surgery.

Dr. Chung earned his bachelor’s at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) followed by his medical degree at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  He performed his internship and residency in general surgery at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, followed by a fellowship in trauma-critical care at Cedars-Sinai. 

Throughout Dr. Chung’s academic training, he earned awards and honors, including the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Award, Phi Beta Kappa and Highest Honors in Major, biology, at UCSC.  He also held positions as an EKG technician, molecular biology researcher and research associate.
