Darren J. Malinoski, MD, FACS, is Director of Surgical Critical Care, Medical Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Director of the Surgical Critical Care Fellowship. He is board certified in surgery and surgical critical care.
Dr. Malinoski has written more than 20 research articles related to surgery in peer reviewed publications and co-authored six book chapters and five abstracts. He has been a reviewer for several publications including the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, the Journal of Organ Dysfunction and the Journal of the Pancreas. He has been featured several times in the Orange County Register and has had many articles published online. A much sought-after speaker, Dr. Malinoski has been a lecturer and presenter at more than 100 meetings throughout the United States.
In addition to being a physician leader of the United Network of Organ Sharing, Dr. Malinoski is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, the Mackenzie Society at Oregon Health and Science University, The Transplantation Society and the American Society of Transplantation. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Malinoski earned his bachelor's in medicine from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, Illinois. He completed a general surgery residency and a trauma research fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University and a surgical critical care fellowship at the Los Angeles County/University of Southern California Medical Center. He is certified in advanced trauma life support, advanced cardiac life support, advanced burn life support, pediatric advanced life support and is a fundamental critical care support instructor.
