Margo B. Minissian, ACNP is a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center at at Cedars-Sinai's Heart Institute. The program is designed to help women reduce their chances of heart disease through a preventive approach, including state-of-the-art screening and diagnostic testing.
Ms Minissian is nationally board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and holds California licensures as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
She is an active member in the American College of Cardiology (ACC), in which she holds the Cardiac Care Associate (CCA) Chair for the California Chapter and is the state liaison. Margo has recently accepted the National Co- Chair position for the CCA's national committee. She is a member of the American Heart Association, the California Association for Nurse Practitioners and the American College of Nurse Practitioners. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Nursing where she plays a key role in precepting and teaching nurse practitioners.
Her primary research interests focus on women and heart disease, specifically, microvascular disease and endothelial wall dysfunction in women. Ms. Minissian is a co-investigator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Ms. Minissian has spoken at many professional organizations discussing the epidemic of women with heart disease, including the Women's Health Conference at Cedars-Sinai, and she was a co-host at the Sister to Sister event at the Staples Center.
Ms. Minissian received her master's in nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated with honors as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
