Nicole Herzog, MD
Nicole Herzog, MD, is an attending physician with the Department of Pediatrics Primary Care Division at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. A board-certified pediatrician, she is involved in several clinical activities. Dr. Herzog works part-time for Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Cedars-Sinai Health Associates. As a member of the teaching faculty at Cedars-Sinai, she supervises residents and medical students at the Children's Health Clinic and on the Pediatric Inpatient Hospital Service.
Dr. Herzog's research is in the area of health services, primarily the development and implementation of systematic, evidence-based approaches to patient care focusing on clinical outcomes and improved quality of patient care. Previous studies have included investigating the effectiveness of influenza vaccination when given to hospitalized patients, as well as the limited incorporation of economic analysis in clinical practice guidelines. Currently she is investigating the effect of computerized physician order entry on the rate of medication errors and adverse patient events.
An active member of the Cedars-Sinai community and a clinical assistant professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine, Dr. Herzog has served on the Pediatric Resident Applicant Selection Committee and was a faculty preceptor for the Fundamentals of Clinical Medicine course for UCLA medical students. In addition, she acts as liaison between the Pediatrics Department at Cedars-Sinai and Zynx Health, Inc., an organization specializing in health services research and evidenced-based clinical tools.
Dr. Herzog received her bachelor's degree from UCLA and her medical degree from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where she was awarded the Frances Nunnaly Winzer Award for Scholarly, Effective and Sensitive Fulfillment of Professional Responsibility as a Pediatric Resident. Dr. Herzog then completed a fellowship in Health Services Research at Zynx Health, Inc., Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
