Reza Nazemi, MD
Reza Nazemi, MD, is an endocrinologist at Cedars-Sinai’s Thyroid Cancer Center, and has served as a clinical instructor in the hospital’s Endocrinology clinic since 2008.
Board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, Dr. Nazemi specializes in helping patients, both hospitalized and as outpatients, with endocrine- and diabetes-related concerns.
Dr. Nazemi served as Clinical Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, where he provided care for patients at Los Angeles County+University of Southern California Healthcare Network, the University of Southern California’s University Hospital and the Norris Cancer Center.
His experience encompasses work with pregnant patients with diabetes and thyroid diseases, as well as patients with pediatric endocrine or infertility disorders. Dr. Nazemi is involved with investigations related to diabetes, hypopituitarism, insulinoma cases, Cushing's syndrome, gout, and muscle tissue changes related to aging, and has shared his expertise in related presentations and publications.
The doctor’s professional affiliations include membership in the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, The Endocrine Society and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Nazemi also maintains his certification in thyroid ultrasound, and is experienced in performance of fine needle aspiration and biopsies, thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided biopsies.
A married father of two, Dr. Nazemi received his medical degree from the University of Shaheed Beheshti in Tehran, Iran in 1995, where he practiced general medicine until May 1998. He was a Research Fellow at the University of Southern California’s Division of Trauma Surgery and Critical Care before completing his residency at the university’s Department of Internal Medicine in 2003.
