Rita Hand is the Nurse Practitioner for the Outpatient Supportive Care service Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Group.
Ms. Hand is an board certified nurse practitioner with a specialty in geriatrics, a board certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse, ELENC (End of Life Nursing Consortium) and POLST trainer and brings many years of nursing experience in geriatrics, critical care, hospice case management and pain management. Ms. Hand is an associate faculty instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles and has additional academic experience as an instructor in the registered nursing programs of both Santa Monica and Los Angeles Valley Colleges.
Her primary interests are educating staff, and assisting in the management of patients and families facing advance acute and chronic conditions. Her expertise is in pain and symptom management, assisting patient and families to clarify information, and formulation of goals to achieve the best quality of life that is consistent with their values throughout the trajectory of their illness.
