Ann E. Walts, MD

Pathologist

Ann E. Walts, MD is a pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and the Thyroid Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Walts previously served as Director of Cytopathology at Cedars-Sinai and is currently an instructor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)-Cal State Dominquez Hills Cytotechnologist Training Program.

Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Walts specializes in cytopathology. She has published more than 45 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, primarily in the field of clinical cytopathology. She is a reviewer for several journals and a member of numerous professional societies.

Dr. Walts received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. She was a graduate student in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Walts completed a rotating internship at Hebrew University Medical Center-Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, followed by a pathology internship and residency in anatomic pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
