Chirag G. Patil, MD, is a neurosurgeon at the Brain Tumor Center and Director of the Center for Neurosurgical Outcomes Research in the Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai. His clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive treatment of brain tumors and he has a special interest and expertise in treating metastatic brain tumors. He also specializes in minimally invasive brain tumor treatments such as stereotactic radiosurgery and neuroendoscopy.

Dr. Patil is a very active neurosurgical researcher, conducting studies on novel brain tumor therapies, radiosurgery for brain metastases, immune factors in gliomas, and treatment of pituitary tumors. His research has been funded by the Walter E. Dandy Fellowship of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. He has co-written several chapters in a new text on meningiomas and published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. Patil is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Society for Neuro-Oncology, and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Before coming to Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Patil served on the medical staff of Stanford University, where he completed an internship in general surgery, a residency in neurosurgery, and a fellowship in stereotactic radiosurgery.

A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Patil earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, where he was a Regent’s Scholar. He also has a master’s degree in epidemiology from Stanford University.
