David B. Thordarson, MD
David B. Thordarson, MD is a member of Cedars-Sinai’s Orthopaedic Center. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Thordarson has published more than 90 articles in peer reviewed journals and co-authored nine book chapters, all related to orthopedic conditions. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, Foot & Ankle International for more than four years and is the author of a book entitled, Orthopedic Essentials – Foot and Ankle Surgery. A much sought after speaker, Dr. Thordarson has lectured at more than 80 local, 160 national and 30 international meetings.
Dr. Thordarson is a member of numerous local and national societies including the Western Orthopaedic Society, the California Orthopaedic Association, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the North American Foot and Ankle Association, the Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association, the Foot Club and the American Diabetes Association. Dr. Thordarson has served on various committees and panels of these organizations.
After earning his bachelor’s degree, with highest honors, at the University of California, Riverside, Dr. Thordarson went on to earn his medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He performed his surgical internship and orthopedic residency at UCLA, followed by a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at UCLA and Kaiser Hospital in Panorama City.
Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Thordarson was Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California for more than 20 years.
