Jennice S. Vilhauer, PhD is the Clinical Director of Adult Outpatient Programs and Director of Psychology Training in Psychiatry at Cedars-Sinai.
Dr. Vilhauer specializes in the use of cognitive therapies for the treatment of adult psychiatric disorders. She has dual subspecialties in women's issues and health psychology. Her research is focused on the integration of mindful consciousness and future-directed thought as mechanisms for recovery and wellness and she has developed a new form of psychotherapy for the treatment of depression known as Future Directed Therapy.
She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Her studies have been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including CNS Neuroscience and Therapeutics, the Journal of Offender Rehabilitation, and Fordham Urban Law Journal.
Dr. Vilhauer earned her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her doctoral degree from Fordham University in New York City. She completed her post-doctoral training at Columbia University in New York.
