Kurlen S. Payton, MD is Associate Clinical Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Payton was a hospitalist in the neonatal intensive care unit of The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Payton has published articles for peer reviewed publications including Developmental Neuroscience and Pediatric Annals. He has presented at conferences in the United States and France.
Dr. Payton earned a bachelor's of science in nursing (cum laude) from Clemson University in South Carolina. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Payton completed both his pediatric residency, where he served as chief resident, and a neonatology fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
