Cardiology

Madan Sharma, MD, FACC, FSCAI is a cardiologist at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute. He is board certified in cardiology, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular computed tomography, vascular medicine and endovascular medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

In addition to Dr. Sharma’s extensive clinical experience, his research interests include optimizing cardiac risk stratification, structural heart disease and new interventional therapies. His research has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the American Journal of Cardiology and the Journal of Invasive Cardiology. He serves on the many committees throughout the Cedars-Sinai.

Dr. Sharma earned his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, India. He completed an internal medicine residency at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, including a year as Chief Resident. After a year in clinical research in cardiology at the University of California, San Francisco, he continued his training in cardiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He returned to San Francisco to complete his general and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco. He continued his training in advanced structural heart disease and endovascular interventions as Clinical Instructor at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles and joined the Cedars Sinai Heart Institute in 2009.
