Sulagna Saitta, MD, PhD is Associate Director of Clinical Genetics at the Medical Genetics Institute and a member of the Departments of Pediatrics and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in biology at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Saitta earned both her medical degree and doctorate degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Thomas Jefferson University. She performed her internship and residency in Pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and a fellowship in human genetics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She joined the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and as an attending physician in Clinical Genetics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she practiced for the last 10 years until joining Cedars-Sinai in July 2011.

Dr. Saitta has a particular interest in pediatric genetics with a focus on chromosomal disorders, developmental delay, birth defects and cardiac disorders. Her research and publications have explored molecular aspects of chromosome 22q11 deletions that cause DiGeorge syndrome and she has significant experience with the diagnosis and treatment of those patients. She sees outpatients in the general genetics clinics and is available for inpatient consults.
