COACH For Kids and Their Families®

Since 1994, the COACH (Community Outreach Assistance for Children’s Health) for Kids and Their Families® Program, a landmark mobile medical and case management program, has been providing expert clinical care and social services for low-income and medically underserved children and their families in Los Angeles County at no charge to their families.  The program is an affiliate of the Children's Health Fund, a national network of pediatric mobile clinic providers.

Transportation to the doctor's office is often a near impossibility for families barely able to make ends meet.  At the core of the COACH for Kids Program are two fully equipped state-of-the-art mobile medical units that are essentially “clinics-on-wheels.”  Staffed by a dedicated team of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers and other healthcare professionals from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the COACH mobile medical units travel to various economically challenged and medically underserved areas of Los Angeles County on a weekly or periodic basis.

Healthcare services are provided at public elementary and middle schools, Head Start State Preschools, housing developments, homeless shelters, and facilities that aid and protect women and children.  COACH for Kids® staff members are bi-lingual and, therefore, uniquely able to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients.
